The Smith Family has moved in to a wonderful suburban home in Willow Creek. Richard has begun working at the local hospital and has moved up quickly to the position of Assistant Nurse. As Izzie was still young, Elizabeth had decided to stay at home in order to care for the youngster. She enjoyed the quality time she is able to spend with her daughter, as well as her other two children, even if William can be a bit of a handful at times.
Once Izzie entered school, Elizabeth found it hard to be at home all day alone, and decided to begin a career. She found out she loved painting while on a date with her husband, and that became her career. [more...]
Emilie entered high school just as her brother moved out. Her experience with drama club in grade school taught her one thing, she wanted everyone to know her name. Emilie spent much of her time recording videos and posting them for the world to see just to get her name out there. She even employed her sister as her editor. Of course, employed is an apt word, and Izzie began to feel under-appreciated, and not just by her sister. After a fight with her mother, Izzie ran away from home. Fortunately she only went to her brother's apartment, and eventually she came back. It did teach her family not to take advantage of her though. They would go on to try and include her more. Back-to-back birthdays plagued the Smith Family as Richard, Elizabeth, and Emilie all hit major milestones. Elizabeth has retired from her career as a professional painter, but still paints for fun. Richard has decided to stick with his job for the time being. Meanwhile Emilie is now a young adult and had a decision to make, to stay at home or go out on her own. She let her acting success decide the answer, and quickly lined up her first gig. [more...]
Emilie has enjoyed some ups and downs as an actress. Fortunately she had had more ups than downs and is now enjoying quite a bit of success and a wide range of roles. She enjoys the freedom her careers offers her, and has even gotten engaged. [more...]
After her recent success in last role, Emilie decided to treat her fianceé to a quick meal out. There was only one good restraunt in Newcrest, and really there weren't any others elsewhere, so they headed out to the same restraunt they had been to many times before.
Emilie enjoyed her spagetti while Lucas enjoyed a glass of necter and a plate of chicken. As Emilie had grown up a vegitarian she wasn't too pleased with Lucas eating something with meat, but she was used to it as she was literally the only one in her family that didn't eat the stuff. Besides, maybe she could eventually get Lucas to see the error in his ways.
Emilie remembered the ceremony her brother had. She could only imagine, with her fame, just how a ceremony like that would go down. As she got to talking with Lucas she expressed a desire to avoid all the frills and crowds associated with a typical wedding. The man nodded in understanding and asked why they just didn't go get married right then. It was certainly a good question.
Without any frills or ceremony, Emilie and Lucas exchanged vows right by the table. Everyone in the restraunt was pretty surprised. Neither Emilie nor Lucas particularly cared. This moment was about them.
Back at home the couple sealed their marriage in the bedroom. Emilie did worry that she was being a bit impulsive, but, she did love Lucas, so what possible harm could their be in just marrying him?
Unfortunately not everything was happy. Yes, Emilie's career was taking off. Yes, she had gotten married to her longtime sweetheart. These were both very good and happy events, but they were mared by the passing of Emilie's cat, Luna.
Emilie had been with Luna since she was a little girl. She hadn't always spent a lot of time with the cat, but she was her only companion before she married Lucas. It broke her heart to see her go, but Luna was an old cat. In the end maybe this was better. Everyone had to go some time and at least Luna wasn't suffering any longer.
Emilie's most recent audition was for a similar role to the one she had so much trouble with on her last attempt. When she was accept for this role again Emilie took it has a personal challenge to not only do better than the first time, but to truly excel at the role.
The role had involved a lot of romance scenes, which Emilie figured were her weakest. The director and her also didn't see eye-to-eye on some of her performances, but that was not her focus now. She was now married so practicing romance was something she could do. Of course all of her passionate kisses and flirting threw her new husband off a bit. She hadn't been quite so romantic even when they were dating, but Lucas figured it was because they were newly weds until Emilie told him it was for her next role then he wasn't so sure how he felt about being used like that.
Before starting her performance Emilie was sure to get notes and speak with the director this time. She probably should have invited her over and not tried to chat with her while on set, but at least the notes seemed to help.
Thanks to Emilie's research, the notes from the director, and her general acting ability Emilie did much better this time. She was much more pleased with her romance scenes, even if they were a bit more over the top than she would have liked, and her other scenes, though not exactly what the director was hoping for, were more the what the director was expecting.
Seeing as it was so late, she would leave the set right after her performance. This meant she had no time to receive any direct feedback again, but the agency seemed more than pleased with her performance. Perhaps she would be getting even more roles now, maybe even a lead!
Emilie didn't always get the choicest gigs, gigs for kids shows were the worst since she often had to wear a big, bulky costume, but there was no denying she was truly starting to make a mark as an actress. Certainly her growing fan-base and followers would seem to support that point, but the biggest indication for her was probably her bank account. Though Lucas was employed, it was royalities from Emilies old videos and her pay from acting gigs that really balooned the account.
The growing bank account and the growing family Emilie was building along with the small house she had purchased when she moved out that just seemed to get smaller after adding Lucas' stuff to it got Emilie considering a move. She did love the awesome loft bedroom and the balcony over the deck design of her current home, but there was just so little room to expand, despite the large yard, and she had begun considering children.
As with many big decisions in her life, Emilie decided that moving and starting a family would hinge on the success of her next few gigs. Unfortunately she dazzled the directors of all of them, not to mention her agency.
After talking it over with Lucas, who also saw the logic in finding a bigger place, Emilie started looking. She loved living in a large suburban area like Newcrest, especially being across from a spa, a gym, and a pool, but the hustle-and-bustle and noise of everything was a bit too much. Not to mention she really couldn't go anywhere without being recognized.
Emilie remembered her short trip to a beach in Sulani and decided the peace and quite of island life might be just what the doctor ordered, so she started looking there. She found a nice open, airy, two bedroom two bath home she thought would be perfect for the young couple looking to raise and family. Selling her current home on its own would get them the house, their bank account would cover furnishing, and that left a ton left over still if they sold most of their old furniture. Who could say no?
After her last gig and waiting for Lucas to come home the couple moved into their new home. They hadn't even had dinner so they got to eat their first meal in the new home right after they got settled. The ocean breeze blowing through the whole place was nice. Emilie was certain she was going to love it here.
The first thing the couple did after dinner was convert the bedroom, which must have belonged to a child at some point, into a temporary office which allowed the couple space to work together. Before they couldn't just sit and chat as Emilie posted and social media and Lucas filled out reports because they simply couldn't both be doing those activities at the same time. There simply wasn't space enough for two desks in the old place. Eventually this room would have to be a child's room again, but, for now, it made an excellent office.
The next order of business wouldn't be until Lucas came back from work so Emilie decided to make use of the new bathtub and take a mud bath while she waited. Once Lucas was home it was time to cristan the place! They could have done it in bed, but the large closet was just too tempting and the bed just too ordinary, so Emilie beckoned her husband to follow her into the closet.
This was no ordinary woohoo session. No Emilie decided they should try and fill the house they bought even if they had literally just converted the extra bedroom into an office. Of course she didn't think she would get pregnant on her first try, but, fate seemed to have other plans as she quickly found out that she was eating for two. This could be a problem, however, as she already had a gig scheduled. Hopefully she would still be able to meet that commitment.
No once on set who had seen Emilie during her audition was quite expecting what they got. Emilie had already begun to show. Fortunately no one on set seemed all that bothered and the director like the idea of her playing a pragnant detective. They'd just work that into the story somehow. Not his problem, that would be the writer's issue.
Emilie aced that performance too, but she figured it would probably be best not to accept, or even look for, any gigs until after the baby was born. Lucas agreed. Fortunately they wouldn't be living off just his income. Emilie still had those sweet-sweet royalties.
