Generation One

The Smith Family has moved in to a wonderful suburban home in Willow Creek. Richard has begun working at the local hospital and has moved up quickly to the position of Assistant Nurse. As Izzie was still young, Elizabeth had decided to stay at home in order to care for the youngster. She enjoyed the quality time she is able to spend with her daughter, as well as her other two children, even if William can be a bit of a handful at times.

Once Izzie entered school, Elizabeth found it hard to be at home all day alone, and decided to begin a career. She found out she loved painting while on a date with her husband, and that became her career. [more...]

Emilie entered high school just as her brother moved out. Her experience with drama club in grade school taught her one thing, she wanted everyone to know her name. Emilie spent much of her time recording videos and posting them for the world to see just to get her name out there. She even employed her sister as her editor. Of course, employed is an apt word, and Izzie began to feel under-appreciated, and not just by her sister. After a fight with her mother, Izzie ran away from home. Fortunately she only went to her brother's apartment, and eventually she came back. It did teach her family not to take advantage of her though. They would go on to try and include her more. Back-to-back birthdays plagued the Smith Family as Richard, Elizabeth, and Emilie all hit major milestones. Elizabeth has retired from her career as a professional painter, but still paints for fun. Richard has decided to stick with his job for the time being. Meanwhile Emilie is now a young adult and had a decision to make, to stay at home or go out on her own. She let her acting success decide the answer, and quickly lined up her first gig. [more...]

First time on the big stage

My first time in a studio makeup chair.

After being selected for a small role in a commercial it was time for Emilie to head to the Del Sol Valley for the first time as an actress. To say she was excited was a bit of an understatement, but she was also quite nervous. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that her entire future hinged on how well she did in this one gig. She simply wouldn't feel comfortable moving out on her own, despite how much she saved, if her acting career was dead on arrival. The role she was playing, however, was an upbeat, taking animal, spokesperson so those feelings would have to be left in the makeup room if Emilie expected to be successful.

After hair and make up, which would seem completely unnecessary later, Emilie took a few deep breathes and reminded herself this was what she wanted to do and she couldn't let anything stand in her way.

I guess we all start somewhere

Commercials didn't have credits so Emilie was even more horrified when she found out that no one would be able to see her face. Sure, if things went well, and she happened to see the commercial on TV with her family she could always point at the purple raccoon-bunny thing and say that was her, but no one would know for sure, even her. Nevertheless it was a place to start. If she did well the placement algorithms were likely to find her better roles, maybe even ones were people could actually recognize her.

Might as well get this over with. . .

At least she could take some solace in that fact that if she did poorly no one would be able to tell it was her. She took another deep breath and looked for the director. It was time to get this little commercial performance over with so she could get better gigs, hopefully.

I really did well!

The role was simple enough. I bit of dancing, which was easy thanks to growing up with a dance machine like William, and little speaking, and a lot a product placements and chats. To say she felt as if the role was beneath her as she had spent so much time practicing her acting even before she started down this career path, was another small understatement.

Nerves completely fell away as Emilie went through each of her scenes with utter and complete ease. She was a good actress, at least she felt like she was, and that seemed to count for something. Once her scenes wrapped the director and producer pulled her aside. They informed her that she was a star performer and they will be compensating her at a star performer level. This was great news. Once the agency heard about it she was positive she would be placed in much better roles.

This also meant that it was time for her to branch out on her own. She had proven to herself that acting and becoming famous was something that was within her grasp, but it would be hard to do everything while still living under her parent's roof. With that, Emilie found herself a nice house and was out on her own the very next day. This came as a shock to poor Izzie, who Emilie didn't really want to leave, but she knew Izzie would be alright. This was an important step for her on her road to fame.

A nice new gym

Boxing at a much closer gym

Up until now Emilie had been keeping up her girlish figure by during minor workouts and yoga at a gym in Del Sol Valley. Fortunately she no longer had to travel so far. In fact she only had to walk across the street to Eastern Ascension Gym. Now she had no excuses to keep herself fit!

Indoor court

Amongst the amenities at the new gym was a full-sized, indoor basketball court. As Emilie tried her hand at shooting again, she remembered spending time with her sister shooting hoops at the rooftop half-court at Skye Fitness in San Myshuno. Unfortunately this led her to missing her sister. It wasn't as if she couldn't hop over and see her just about whenever she wanted, but the two had been mostly inseparable since Izzie had run away.

Interesting feature

After her round of basketball, Emilie, headed up stairs for a quick shower. She was shocked to find a small rooftop garden with lounge chairs. This was certainly a unique feature, and likely how Eastern Ascension got its name. She decided to quickly relax outside before her next audition.

A spontaneous proposal

Sakura tea? What's that!?

Emilie hadn't seen her new boyfriend since she left high school. He might have still been a teen, but they weren't really that far in age. Fortunately she discovered the romance festival was happening in San Myshuno. What could be more perfect that inviting her boyfriend there?

Growing up, Emilie had heard that there was something odd about the tea served at the romance festival. She wasn't sure what it could be, but figured the tea couldn't be dangerous if it was allowed in a public venue like this. She convinced her boyfriend to try the tea with her, and they both felt an odd rush of attraction as their hormones began racing.

Not just tea. . .

The tea wasn't all the festival had to offer. Emilie soon found herself being dragged toward a woman near one of the tea fountains. She kept hearing how whatever was about to happen would be fun, but everything was all a blur as she was really beginning to feel weird.

The woman said a few nonsensical words that seemed to be some sort of blessing on the young couple. Emilie couldn't really understand what was going on or what the woman was saying. All she knew is she was on one knee with a ring. She wasn't even sure where the ring had come from. She felt her mouth move and heard the words she was saying, but didn't really make out what the words meant.

Engaged!?

One thing was certain as Lucas, Emilie's boyfriend, leapt into her arms, was that he understood perfectly what the girl had asked. Unfortunately Emilie didn't realize it until a few hours later. She had asked Lucas to marry her, and he had said yes. If she thought things were moving too fast before, they certainly were now. She thought about slowing things down, at least taking her time planning the wedding, but part of her was also very excited to be engaged.

Emilie's New Year's

Celebration!

The newly engaged couple met up again just a few days later. Emilie had another successful audition and had even hosted a few of her co-stars for a little get together. They had left and the TV was now Emilie and Lucas' alone.

It was the celebration of the New Year. Much had happened in Emilie's life, and all of it was worth celebrating, so celebrate she did. She couldn't think of anyone better suited to celebrate with than her new fiancée.

New Year Tradition

At midnight the fireworks went off and Emilie kissed Lucas. This was something she had heard about from her brother, and always wanted to try. Now that she too was in a happy relationship now seemed like the perfect time.

A major supporting role

Ready to actually be recognized!

After a couple more commercials and a few background roles, Emilie was excited for her first supporting role on an actual television set. Not only would people, despite hair and makeup, be able to tell who she was, but she would also have her name in the credits. She was finally starting to really make a career out of this acting business.

Practicing with a co-star on set.

Though Emilie had met the director and a few co-stars when she had them over at her place not long ago, she wasn't able to meet everyone and had a pretty big scene with one of them. She decided that it would only be fair to get a bit of practice in with that co-star before shooting began. Fortunately this was also the other actress's first break out role and she welcomed the opportunity for a bit of extra practice.

Scene with that co-star.

Thanks to their practice that one scene went very well, for the other actress. Emilie's performance wasn't terrible, but it was also far from perfect. Maybe she should have gotten notes from the director, or played the scene a little safer, but either way it was not exactly what the director wanted, but would have to be printed as is due to the time constraints of the shoot.

How's that acting career now?

The rest of Emilie's performance was a bit of a mixed bag. There were scenes, like the death of her character, that she thought she could really play well, and others she played safe with. In the end only the death scene was really that great. As Emilie received her pay and feedback from the directory and produces, she could only hope her acting career was not as dead as the character she had just played.

Fan meet and greet

Meet the fans!

Before entering the scene as an actress, Emilie had recorded and released quite a few videos online. There were also several times she had done streams of her violin performances. After receiving a fan letter from one of her old friends who also watched her a lot online, Emilie decided to gather her fans together so they could see her new home and spend some time with the celebrity.

Photos with my fans!

Despite her less than stellar review in her first breakout role, this was just the type of day she needed. All she had to do was talk to people, pose for pictures, and just be a good host. Her fans were so surprised that Emilie was really just another person. Sure her house might have been nicer than some people's but it wasn't the largest, and seemed nice and well suited for entertaining. Emilie herself was really just down to earth. She talked about growing up, about drama club, and about deciding to release reviews online. She even mentioned how her sister used to edit the videos for her.

Dancing outside.

Emilie had done much work in her backyard and deck in preparation for having so many people over. It was only a matter of time before she had everyone outside enjoying the new bar and speakers she had installed. She even grilled them so nice fruit cobbler so they would have something to eat.

Soon everyone started to leave, but this was just the perfect day. Seeing everyone and talking with her fans really boosted her confidence. She had one bad gig, and their may even be others in her future, but that didn't mean she should give up on her dream. She had to keep going. If not for herself, she'd do it for her fans and all those that supported her.

The spa

More fun with yoga.

Not too long ago Emilie had discovered the joys of having a gym just across the street from her. A little while ago she had also discovered the joys of yoga. Her next discovery would be a combination of the those two joys of her life.

Though it was true that Eastern Ascensions Gym had a small yoga studio it was usually full by the time Emilie had gotten there. Fortunately there was a solution. Emilie's house was on a corner lot. Eastern Ascensions was right across the street on the side of her lot, but just in front of her was something else entirely. Eastern Flow Spa was a full featured spa with a yoga studio, message table, meditation bar, soaking tubs, and saunas.

The yoga studio at Eastern Flow was much larger and could accommodate everyone. Emilie quickly fell in love with the spa. She would now visit it every other weekday, vowing to continue her trips to the gym on weekdays she wasn't at the spa and resting over the weekend, assuming she didn't have an audition or gig. Hopefully this new regimen would help her keep up her looks and get her good gigs.

A bit of a break

Yoga at home!

One of the most interesting parts of working as in actress was the fact that Emilie was able to choose the types of gigs she was willing to work on. This allowed her to really focus on things she thought she was good at and also work on her own schedule. Unfortunately sometimes she just didn't have any gigs that she felt she would be good at come her way. This left her with a choice, to take a risk or to simply not make money for a few days.

As Emilie still posted videos online, and was still getting royalties from older videos, there really wasn't much choice. Why take a risk, if you could have a few days off? After all this wasn't like a "normal" career with set hours and set times off. If she wanted days of she had to make sure she gave them to herself.

Just because she didn't work though wasn't an excuse to just slack off all day. If she wanted to keep getting good roles, she would have to make sure she stayed fit. So she always at least did a yoga routine. Fortunately a new yoga mat on the upper deck of her house, which she just had built, was just what the doctor ordered to keep her on track.

Are you a mermaid?

Of course Emilie didn't have to stay home and do yoga all day, so she decided to take a trip up to Sulani to see what the beaches had to offer. She wasn't going alone, however. She took her drone with her. Might has well show her fans the beach too while she was there.

Even out on Sulani people seemed to recognize her. One even practically fainted at her feet. What shocked her was meeting a native woman in Sulani that hadn't even heard of her. As a joke she asked the woman if she was a mermaid. Living under the water wouldn't certainly explain why she hadn't heard of Emilie. Of course the fact that Emilie really wasn't the most famous person in the world could also explain that, but the woman actually revealed herself as a mermaid. That was certainly unexpected and Emilie wasn't sure how to respond. She simply tried to change the subject and hoped her followers wouldn't notice.

Well let's try this now.

After her somewhat awkward conversation with an aledged mermaid, Emilie decided to give her fans a bit of a show. She had never been on an AquaZip, but hoped she wouldn't utterly face plant as she took one for a spin and even did a few tricks for the camera. As she completed each trick without fail she hoped her fans were as impressed as she was.

The sun was nice and the blue water was cool. Emilie hoped she would have time to come back once again, maybe without the drone sometime.

Much better than the last role

Seriously, this is pretty cool!

Emilie had another sucessful audtion not long after her last free day. She was told by her agency that she had exactly what it took to be a blood sucking swashbuclkler. She wasn't exactly sure how to take that, but seeing her costume really helped put the comments in perspective. She was playing a pirate, but not just any pirate.

Really cool!!

The ship set and weather effects were quite amazing. Emilie was certainly glad she kept up on her fitness as she waved the prop sword around executing a perfectly coriographed routine with her co-star. She wouldn't be sure until the last scene was called, but she felt like she was doing much better with this role than she did with her last one.

The last scene. . .

In the last scene she shot she revealed that she wasn't just a pirate, but that she was also a vampire. A vampire pirate was certainly an interesting choice. She wasn't sure what kind of TV show or picture she was really shooting, but it actually sounded like something she would want to watch.

As she closed in to the neck of her co-star she was glad that both her sister and her father had told her so much about vampires. She felt the knowledge really helped her capture the essence of her character. Apparently the director and producer agreed. She wouldn't have time to talk to them after the shoot, but the comments they sent her agency were nothing but praise.

This just shows that actors will have bad days and bad performances, but that doesn't make the bad actors. It just makes them human. Of course Emilie hoped she woul have more good performances that bad, but she would just have to see what came her way.

To be continued. . .
