Generation One

The Smith Family has moved in to a wonderful suburban home in Willow Creek. Richard has begun working at the local hospital and has moved up quickly to the position of Assistant Nurse. As Izzie was still young, Elizabeth had decided to stay at home in order to care for the youngster. She enjoyed the quality time she is able to spend with her daughter, as well as her other two children, even if William can be a bit of a handful at times.

Once Izzie entered school, Elizabeth found it hard to be at home all day alone, and decided to begin a career. She found out she loved painting while on a date with her husband, and that became her career. [more...]

Emilie entered high school just as her brother moved out. Her experience with drama club in grade school taught her one thing, she wanted everyone to know her name. Emilie spent much of her time recording videos and posting them for the world to see just to get her name out there. She even employed her sister as her editor. Of course, employed is an apt word, and Izzie began to feel under-appreciated, and not just by her sister. After a fight with her mother, Izzie ran away from home. Fortunately she only went to her brother's apartment, and eventually she came back. It did teach her family not to take advantage of her though. They would go on to try and include her more. Back-to-back birthdays plagued the Smith Family as Richard, Elizabeth, and Emilie all hit major milestones. Elizabeth has retired from her career as a professional painter, but still paints for fun. Richard has decided to stick with his job for the time being. Meanwhile Emilie is now a young adult and had a decision to make, to stay at home or go out on her own. She let her acting success decide the answer, and quickly lined up her first gig. [more...]

Elizabeth enjoyed her retirement and filled her days with painting and visits to see her grandchildren. Richard considered retiring himself on many occasions, but decided to continue to work. As for Izzie, well, she got a job. She didn't enjoy having to work, but it allowed her to finally get married and move out, leaving Richard and Elizabeth alone in their large suburban home. This house is just right

I paint here now!

After Izzie decided to move out, the old Smith Family Residence just seemed way too big and empty for the empty nesters. The only solution the couple could think of was to find some place smaller, which they had little trouble doing as their house was now worth quite a bit not to mention how much the couple had in reserve.

It also did not take long for their new house to feel like home. It was difficult for Elizabeth to find a place for all the paintings she had saved over the years, and over half of them just had to be sold, but she wanted to make sure the ones she did of her children could be displayed, and she found room right near her easel in the home's loft.

Okay, no more thinking, I'm retiring now.

As for Richard, well he figured what better time to retire than right after a move, especially considering how much they actually ended up making by selling their old home. Like his wife, a simple phone call later, and his pension would soon be on its way. He would not work another day in the rest of his life. Hopefully he would be able to find something else to fill his time.

Visit from the granddaughters

Oh, hello. . .

It didn't take long for Morgana and Amellia to realize that their grandparents had moved a lot closer. Ever since Morgana complained about not being able to go out an hunt and managed to convince her mother to remove the curfew she has been able to essentially go wherever she wanted whenever she wanted as long as she kept her grades up. As for Amellia, it was fine as long as she stayed with Morgana and Cassandra and William knew where they were going.

So the girls headed over to see how their grandparents were faring. The house was much more modern than the suburban home Morgana had visited at least once before. It was also much smaller. Morgana wasn't sure why the couple wanted to move to such a tiny place, and Richard's explanation that the old house was just too big didn't seem to help much.

Hugz!!

After some hugs and pleasant greetings, the girls were offered a tour of the home. The home was so small that the tour was concluded extremely quickly. It would definitely not be a good home for parties, like the last one, but maybe it would be a good place for the aging couple to relax. Morgana began to understand what Richard may have meant by the old place just being too big.

Playing video games with the grandkids.

Ultimately there wasn't much for a pair of small girls to do in such a small space, and they were only so good at conversation. It seemed the little visit would be much shorter than the even the girls realized, that was until Elizabeth mentioned they had a game console. The visit stretched out just a little longer as the grandmother challenged her granddaughters to a bit of Party Frenzy.

Ultimately the grandmother's skills proved too much for the girls and they lost three rounds of play. They decided to call it a day after that.

Stay tuned. . .
